Sedona, Arizona is known for its stunning red rock formations and breathtaking landscapes, making it a popular destination for hiking and outdoor enthusiasts. Here are some of the best hikes in Sedona that you can enjoy:


  1. Cathedral Rock Trail:

    This trail is approximately 3.9 miles round trip and takes you to the top of the iconic Cathedral Rock formation. The trailhead is located off of Cathedral Rock Road and the hike is considered moderate to difficult. The trail starts in a forested area before reaching a series of rocky inclines that lead to the summit. The final ascent to the top of Cathedral Rock involves some strenuous rock scrambling, so it's important to be comfortable with this type of terrain and have proper hiking footwear. From the top, you'll have panoramic views of Sedona and the surrounding landscape. It's best to bring plenty of water and to hike in the cooler months, as temperatures can become extremely hot in the summer.



  2. Bell Rock Pathway:

    This hike is approximately 4 miles round trip and takes you to the base of the iconic Bell Rock formation. The trailhead is located off of Bell Rock Boulevard and the hike is considered moderate to difficult. The trail follows a well-defined path that winds around the base of the rock formation, offering views of the surrounding landscape and the Sedona skyline. The trail can be rocky and steep in some places, so it's important to have proper hiking footwear and to be comfortable with this type of terrain. From the top of Bell Rock, you'll have breathtaking views of Sedona and the surrounding landscape.

    This hike is approximately 6 miles round trip and takes you through a beautiful canyon surrounded by red rock formations. The trailhead is located off of Boynton Pass Road and the hike is considered moderate. The trail follows a well-defined path through the canyon, passing by several scenic overlooks and red rock formations. The trail can be rocky and steep in some places, so it's important to have proper hiking footwear and to be comfortable with this type of terrain. From the top of the canyon, you'll have stunning views of Sedona and the surrounding area.

  4. Devil's Bridge Trail:

    This hike is approximately 4 miles round trip and takes you to the largest natural sandstone arch in Sedona, Devil's Bridge. The trailhead is located off of Dry Creek Road and the hike is considered moderate to difficult. The first half of the trail is relatively easy, following a well-defined path through a red rock canyon. The second half of the trail becomes steeper and more strenuous, with several sections of rock scrambling required to reach the arch. From the top of Devil's Bridge, you'll have spectacular views of Sedona and the surrounding landscape. As with any hike in Sedona, it's important to bring plenty of water and to wear sturdy hiking footwear.

    This hike is approximately 0.6 miles round trip and takes you to a viewpoint of Cathedral Rock and the surrounding area. The trailhead is located off of Cathedral Vista Road and the hike is considered easy. The trail follows a well-defined path through a forest of pine trees to a scenic overlook that provides a sweeping view of Cathedral Rock and the surrounding landscape. This hike is a great option for those who want to enjoy a shorter, easier hike with amazing views. It's a popular spot for sunset viewing, and you can see the red rock formations turn golden as the sun sets behind them.
