What You Are Viewing:
Midgley Bridge spans Wilson Canyon north of Sedona on the scenic Oak Creek Canyon Road (Hwy 89a) to Flagstaff. It's 200-foot-long steel-arch construction is considered an architectural landmark, and as such, it is on the National Register of Historic Places. Completed in 1938, it was named after area rancher & businessman, Major W.W. Midgley.
Giant's Thumb, also known as Thumb Butte, is named because the prominent feature appears to be a thumb jutting up from Mitten Ridge.
The Mogollon Rim extends about 200 miles across Arizona to the border of New Mexico. It is named after Don Juan Ignacio Flores Mogollon, the Spanish Governor of New Mexico from 1712 to 1715. The Rim's most spectacular portions are due to the Coconino Sandstone layered with Kaibab Limestone.
Camel's Head Rock Formation, aka Tiger's Head, is noted for its’ striking colors of reds, oranges, and whites. It is just left of Snoopy Rock Formation.
Snoopy Rock Formation, Sedona's most famous rock formation, is so named because it resembles Snoopy lying asleep on top of his doghouse with Woodstock on his nose.
Uptown Sedona: The webcam's view shows the north portion of Uptown Sedona. Businesses most viewable are the Sedona Art Center, Clear Creek Trading Post, the Best Western, the Wayside Bible Chapel, and the Matterhorn Inn & shops.
